This the gate of the Lord

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"This is the gate of the Lord: it is through this that the righteous will enter” (Psalm 118:20).

Jesus said that he was the "door of the sheep" (John 10:7); and we are saved (made righteous) as we pass through this door (John 10:9). Jesus, therefore, is the door which gives us access to the Lord.

It is by passing through "the door of justice" that we can enter into the presence of God in order to praise him (Psalm 118:19); and our first subject of praise is the very fact that we are saved (Psalm 118:21).

"The Lord is my strength and the subject of my praises; He has become my salvation" (Psalm 118:14).
