Jesus releases the truth

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"And with many such parables He spoke the Word unto them, as they were able to hear it; but without a parable spoke He not unto them. And when they were alone, He expounded [epiluo] all things to His disciples" (Mark 4:33-34).

Jesus declared the Word to the crowds principally in the form of parables. In this way, the truth remained hidden from those who were hard of heart.

But as soon as our heart opens to God, Jesus releases (the original meaning of the Greek verb epiluo) the truth and releases grace into our lives. But that will only happen away from the crowds, within the intimacy of Jesus.
