The lighted lamp

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"No-one, having lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light" (Luke 8:16).

Although this verse applies to the Church, it concerns us all personally. We are this lampstand, and at the moment of our conversion, our lamp (Christ in our life) is lit.

It is not we who create the light, but Christ who, henceforth, lives in us from then on. And all who surround us will see this light, which is Christ in us, by our witness.
