God's paradox

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"All were astonished and glorified God; filled with fear, they said, We have seen this day strange things [paradoxos]" (Luke 5:26).

The Greek word ‘paradoxos’ means literally “aside from opinion”, and the dictionary defines ‘paradox’ as a proposal contrary to common opinion, in contradiction to logic and good sense.

God’s paradoxes are revealed when our faith has come to fullness, for God loves to honour it. That is why everything we receive from God we receive by faith, for without faith it is impossible to please Him.

Faith is the key, therefore, through which we understand God’s paradoxes, which is to say the manifestation of his Kingdom in our life, which, in turn, leads to praise and worship of our God.
