I give you my peace

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"I leave you peace, I give you my peace. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).

The peace that the world offers us is defined by the absence of war or conflict. The peace of God does not depend on external circumstances, which cause trouble and fear, but on reconciliation with God.

And it is at the cost of his blood that Jesus Christ obtains this peace for us. In this way he allows all worldly and heavenly things to be reconciled (Colossians 1:20). This means that everything returns to the harmonious state that existed in the Garden of Eden before the fall. That is why the God of peace sanctifies our whole being, body, soul and spirit because of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
