Grace and Truth

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:17).

During the first Covenant, God told Moses, "And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you" (Exodus 25:16). And Moses put into the Ark of Covenant an omer of manna (Exodus 16:33), the two tablets written by God's hand (Exodus 32:15-16) and the blossomed Aaron's rod (Numbers 17:10).

When Jesus came to earth, He 'tabernacled' among men as Son of God, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Thus, like manna (grace), the two tablets (truth) and the blossomed rod (authority) were God's Testimony in the tabernacle of Moses, grace and truth and the Name of Jesus were God's Testimony in the renewed Covenant.
