The enlightenment of God's House

by Jean-Louis Coraboeuf

"I urged you... not to teach other doctrines, or take heed of fables [mythos] or endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification [oikodomia] in faith" (1 Timothy 1:3-4 Interlinear).

Foreign doctrines, legends, myths and sterile discussion only make for dispute which prevents a proper building up of God’s House, the Church, while at the same time, weakening our faith. It works the same way in God’s House as it does in us, for faith arises out of what we hear.

A pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith produce love, which allows for proper enlightenment in God’s House (1 Timothy 1:5). Let us shun, then everything that prevents us from growing.
